Wilkat Élan Eléganté BassThe Wilkat Élan Bass was conceived upon the request of my good friend Richard Duperron. Richard had owned many basses, but long desired a neck-thru-body design featuring a maple neck and a butternut body. He had a basic body shape in mind, and together we tweaked the size and configuration until we were satisfied. The result was an amazingly comfortable and punchy instrument that is both a feast for the eyes, and a pleasure to play (this photo does not do justice to this fine bass). The tone is superb as a result of two carefully placed EMG Select humbucking pick-ups, two volume controls and one tone control, and the inclusion of a Badass1 bridge and a bone nut.
Bass players that know their way around the neck will appreciate the 24 fret 34" scale length, and the feel and sound of the high quality rosewood fingerboard. The neck is extremely stable due to the purple heart hard wood reinforcing, and a two-way adjustable truss rod.The machine heads are Gotoh Compact, 20 : 1 gold plated for smooth, quick, and reliable tuning. Control knobs are available in black or gold plated finish, and other options are available upon request. Standard finish is satin hand oiled, and clear high gloss polyurethane is optional.
You may have tried a lot of basses, but we believe that the Élan bass represents an outstanding value in today's market. Compared to other bass guitars, you will not be disappointed--especially since you can order the Élan with your choice of pick-ups, bridge, etc.
